Top 4 venue’s of 2024
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I love new year, the sense of a refresh and planning my year makes me super happy. I must be getting old? January for me is mostly sitting down, relaxing - spending time with my family. I do however, always start a near year with wanting to immedialty sort my year out. Getting things planned, booked in - I guess makes me feel productive. So that is exactly what I will be doing this month! I have some awesome wedding shows I want to attend on my list, so I will be sorting that out. Stay tuned!
I tend to do a lot of reflecting and looking back at my previous year of weddings, reminiscing on some of the really lovely venues I have been able to visit! As a supplier, it is so important that a venue not only looks nice, but that it has friendly staff and runs smoothly too. I thought I would list my top 4 stand out venue’s of 2024:
My personal favourite had to be Kinmount House, Dumfries and Galloway. How could you not adore this venue? It was breathtaking. For a photographer, you really are spoilt for choice! Although typically, the first time I do it, we had THE worst weather. An amber warning for wind and rain - the whole day. When I tell you how bad the weather was, it would just be an understatement. However despite the storm, we managed to get out during a little spell of light rain! The venue was just stunning every where I looked. The staff truly looked after me all day from start to finish - I even got a personal tour! If there was ever a place to be stuck inside, it was for sure here I would want to be. I hope to be back soon, in maybe some sunshine!
My second venue that I adored I would definitely say Mabie House Hotel in Dumfries and Galloway. Not only were the staff super friendly, but the grounds of this place were absolutely gorgeous. To me some venue’s feel super large and not very cosy, but this hotel was just lush. It felt like a home from home. I was super lucky to get the most perfect weather too!
Third was an absolute gem in the welsh borders, Highfield Hall, Mold. I could have spent a week in this place! It was spacious, light and just full of character. One of the nicest meals I have had too! They have the perfect balance of inside and outside photograph opportunity’s, I would be super happy to work here again!
Fourth for me would have to be somewhere I have been lucky enough to do before, Mere Court Hotel, Cheshire. I love this venue as it feels a little unique. It’s not a standard hotel, it’s got some stunning old rooms that are gorgeous for autumn and winter weddings. It’s surrounded by a forest, which can be so much fun coming up with new poses and ideas. I love having a good chat with all the staff too, they are always so helpful and friendly.
So that’s my list for 2024! I am so excited for all the new venues I have coming up this year, and who knows what venue’s will be on my 2025 favourites! Have a wonderful start to the year everyone. Alex <3
